THE Rohe EDIT
If You Work Nights, Your Sleep Has to Work Harder

Why nurses and shift workers are changing one overlooked part of their sleep routine.
You get home when everyone else is starting their day.
The sun is coming up. Your phone is already filling with messages. Your body knows it's morning, but you need the next six or seven hours to feel like night.
For nurses, healthcare workers and anyone working rotating or overnight shifts, sleep isn't always as simple as going to bed.
And when the hours you do get are limited, the environment you sleep in matters more.
That includes something most of us rarely think about: the surface your face spends hours pressed against.
Your pillowcase gets more contact with your skin than almost anything else you own.
Think about what happens after a long shift.
Sweat. Oil. Hair products. Skincare. Dead skin cells.
Then you put your face against the same pillowcase for hours.
Traditional cotton is absorbent. That can be useful for towels, but it isn't necessarily what you want against your face and hair all night.
It can absorb moisture from your skin and skincare while creating more friction as you move in your sleep.
For someone already dealing with irregular sleep, dry hospital air, masks, stress and long working hours, your pillow doesn't need to add another variable.
That realization is what led us to Rohe.
Rohe uses 22-momme 6A mulberry silk with silver-ion technology.
We wanted to rethink the pillowcase as part of a modern recovery routine rather than something decorative you throw on the bed.
Rohe starts with dense, premium 22-momme mulberry silk. Unlike rougher woven fabrics, silk creates a smooth surface with less friction against the face and hair.
That matters when you spend hours sleeping on your side, wake up with tangled hair, or simply want to reduce unnecessary pulling and rubbing against your skin.
But we wanted to go beyond silk. So Rohe incorporates silver-ion technology directly into the fabric.
Silver ions are widely used in textiles for their antimicrobial properties and can help inhibit the growth of odor-causing microbes on the material.
The result is a pillowcase designed around a simple idea: keep the surface you sleep on smoother and fresher between washes.
Because sometimes your night starts at 9AM.
Shift workers don't always get the perfect bedtime routine. Sometimes you come home exhausted. Sometimes you shower and collapse into bed. Sometimes you have four hours before you need to be awake again.
Rohe isn't going to fix rotating shifts or replace good sleep hygiene. But it can improve one part of the environment waiting for you when you finally get into bed.
RECOVERY, MADE PRACTICAL
Build a recovery routine that is ready before you are exhausted.
The pillowcase is only one part of daytime sleep, but it is a part you can prepare before the shift begins.
- Keep the room dark, cool and quiet.
- Put the phone on Do Not Disturb before getting into bed.
- Rotate clean pillowcases so a fresh surface is always available.
- Seek medical advice if shift work is causing persistent sleep problems.
Rohe will not change your schedule. It is designed to make the surface waiting for you smoother, fresher-feeling and easier to return to.
